Waterproofing Decking

Decks provide a beautiful and functional addition to many homes. They can also be a critical element in protecting the home from water damage due to leaks. Failed home waterproofing causes tremendous damage that can cost thousands of dollars in damage and repairs. Material selection is the most crucial aspect of waterproofing. The best application of a poor product will still result in a failed application. Investing in the proper materials and application up front can save the homeowner from tremendous cost and frustration later. In many parts of the country, LINE-X is the best known waterproof decking solution. Local contractors specify LINE-X by name in their plans and build decks to the proven standards that ensure a complete long lasting solution for the homeowner.

Warehouse Tire Centers

The walls of an international chain of membership warehouse tire centers are being coated with LINE-X for aesthetics and protection. Tire and repair shops are notorious for showing significant wear on their walls from oil, rubber, and storing old tires. This staining detracts from the company image and requires heavy cleaning and maintenance. The centers initially used a cosmetic solution to create an attractive customer view. This process required constant upkeep. After the first couple tire centers were completed, the warehouse center discovered that applying LINE-X as a protective coating enhanced not only the look of the store, but also protected the interior walls from tool damage and required less maintenance.

Tri-Axle Dump Truck

A road and bridge contractor required an application to protect the floors of their Tri-Axle dump trucks from extreme impact, abrasion and corrosion. These trucks were consistently exposed to extreme impact and abrasion from cement, rocks and gravel. The floors of the trucks were especially susceptible needing to be replaced every four to five years at a minimum cost of $3,000. Due to the fact the company owns at least 25 dump trucks, having to replace the floors was becoming increasingly costly. It was mandatory that the product used to protect the floors would be able to withstand the constant extreme abuse of the construction sites while living up to the client’s image requirements. They also needed the solution to be time efficient preventing extensive downtime.

Tractor Canopy

City and county road crews across the country use tractors and other equipment to maintain roads, parks, and other public areas. These crews perform numerous jobs including lawn and brush mowing, construction and routine maintenance. Tractor cabs and canopies are a popular solution for maintenance departments to protect crews from damaging sun and debris. Because this equipment is operated in rugged areas such as ditches and heavily treed areas, the plastic canopies are often scratched or cracked from overhanging branches. A city maintenance manager came to LINE-X looking for a solution to strengthen his tractor cabs and reduce his maintenance costs.

SWAT Truck

Nearly all police departments in the United States have some form of S.W.A.T. vehicle. These vehicles are used to transport heavily-armed Special Weapons and Tactics teams or specialized equipment into difficult and challenging situations. These vehicles come in numerous designs and configurations depending on the needs of the department. In addition to the safety they provide, the appearance of the trucks is also a point of pride to the officers who use them. For one police department, their S.W.A.T. vehicle was taking particular external abuse. With officers in full gear riding on platforms against the outside of the truck, the standard paint was scrapping off and exposing the bare metal underneath. To prevent corrosion of the truck body, the department came to LINE-X.

Steel Road Plate

In many areas of our transportation infrastructure and networks there are steel plates in the road. They are often used at facility entrances and exits to form part of a security or barrier structure. These plates receive constant wear from car and truck traffic including road grit, salt, and other environmental effects that make preservation a challenge. Typically steel plates need to be painted and preserved each year. Besides the obvious problems with corrosion, rusty steel plates do not present a professional image at the entrance or exit of a company’s facility.

Speaker Boxes

Musicians and venues around the world rely on their sound equipment and speaker systems to perform nightly. Often times this equipment is being moved to and setup at concert venues on a weekly basis. This frequent moving and transport can cause serious equipment wear and tear that can drastically cut down the life expectancy of the speakers. Additionally, replacing this equipment can be extremely cost prohibitive so protecting it from damage or product failure is crucial. Speaker manufacturers, musicians and entertainment companies seek a solution to increase the durability and ensure performance of their extremely valuable music equipment.

Service Vehicles

Impact and abrasion can easily wear away the thin layer of protection paint on service vehicles exposing the metal beneath to corrosion. The resulting of deterioration of the metal will require maintenance or re-placement of the part. It also de-tracts from the overall appearance of the vehicle and image of the company. Additionally, employee steps can become slippery when exposed to the elements increasing slip and fall hazards. A national railway company wanted to protect their service vehicles from corrosion while maintaining the professional corporate look of the company. They also wanted employee walk areas to be protected against slip resistance.

Sand Blast Cabinet

The largest producer of reclaimed glassware in the world uses a sandblaster to frost their goblets and tumblers. Due to the force of the sand blasting, the original door made of 5mm thick mild steel eroded forming a hole within approximately 12 weeks time costing the company replacement fee sand production downtime. The customer required a solution that would withstand powerful blasts on a continuous basis preventing downtime from its production schedule.

Rock Chips

Truck beds aren’t the only parts of personal vehicles that take a beating. The grill, hood and rocker panels of vehicles are vulnerable to chips by rocks and other road debris, even during normal driving conditions. These chips diminish the appearance of the vehicle while leaving it susceptible to rust. Car “bras” are useful for protecting the grill and hood of a vehicle from damage but they trap moisture when it rains and are often unsightly and become damaged over time. LINE-X can be applied to the front grill, hood and rocker panels for a permanent accessory that protects the vehicle from chipping and rust damage while enhancing the appearance.
