Swimming Blocks

Swimming starting blocks are not only necessary for competitive swimming but they are a valuable tool for any venue that provides the opportunity to show school pride. The University of Nebraska purchased stainless steel swimming blocks 30 years ago. Due to the constant contact with chlorinated water, the blocks were suffering from extreme corrosion even though they had been refinished. The corrosion was not only unsightly but was also damaging the blocks limiting the lifespan of the school investment. The cost of replacement on a school’s limited budget was unfeasible. LINE-X offered a quick solution that was cost-effective, provided long-lasting results and added the bonus of skid resistant safety features necessary in blocks. Furthermore, the solution presented the University with quality, vibrant starting blocks that screamed school spirit.

Steel Road Plate

In many areas of our transportation infrastructure and networks there are steel plates in the road. They are often used at facility entrances and exits to form part of a security or barrier structure. These plates receive constant wear from car and truck traffic including road grit, salt, and other environmental effects that make preservation a challenge. Typically steel plates need to be painted and preserved each year. Besides the obvious problems with corrosion, rusty steel plates do not present a professional image at the entrance or exit of a company’s facility.

Sports Catering

A catering company invested in a specialized rig to use during sporting events - a 53 foot commercial kitchen on wheels! While the kitchen is state of the art, the floor was not. Over time, the original vinyl tile floor began to loosen. The loose tiles got in the way of the crews feet as they moved throughout the kitchen creating a safety hazard. Additionally, the areas in the floor with missing tiles were unsightly and hard to clean. As a result, the health inspector was very critical of the floor’s condition. The catering company risked failing a health inspection if the floor was not fixed. The catering company chose to remove the entire vinyl floor. Instead of replacing it with a new vinyl floor, they chose to use a tougher, more durable option.

Speaker Boxes

Musicians and venues around the world rely on their sound equipment and speaker systems to perform nightly. Often times this equipment is being moved to and setup at concert venues on a weekly basis. This frequent moving and transport can cause serious equipment wear and tear that can drastically cut down the life expectancy of the speakers. Additionally, replacing this equipment can be extremely cost prohibitive so protecting it from damage or product failure is crucial. Speaker manufacturers, musicians and entertainment companies seek a solution to increase the durability and ensure performance of their extremely valuable music equipment.

Seating Benches

Research indicates that the quality of the waiting area – layout, cleanliness, light, color, noise, imagery, etc. – can significantly impact a consumers experience and perception of service. Enhancing the waiting area can be a simple and cost effective route to providing an appealing, relaxing atmosphere for the consumer. A popular community car wash needed a solution to visually enhance their customer waiting area while protecting the furniture from corrosion damage caused by UV deterioration and chemicals found in the overspray of each wash. They looked to LINE-X to provide a timely, cost-effective solution providing long-lasting results that would be visually appealing to the consumer

RV Shower and bathroom Facilities

A popular RV campsite was building a shower and bathroom facility. They were in need of a flooring solution that would be sturdy enough to withstand constant foot traffic of the guests while remaining aesthetically appealing. In addition, because of the showers and steam involved, it was imperative the solution be non-skid and water resistant.

Restaurant Bar Tables

Restaurant surfaces take a lot of abuse from cleaning agents and hot items, both of which can significantly damage a surface. Replacement costs can be high and new items may be susceptible to similar deterioration. The bar tables at a local restaurant were originally topped with a wood laminate which was damaged and began pealing over time. The tables were a health concern for customers as routine cleaning was difficult. They were also a visible embarrassment to the restaurant owner. The restaurant owner wanted to avoid the expense of purchasing new equipment and needed a protective coating that was durable, attractive, heat and chemical resistant, and would not chip or peel.

Recycle Bins

Recycle bins throughout U.S. National Parks take extreme abuse. They are continuously exposed to severe weather, sand storms, and UV damage. The interior of the bins are equally damaged by such items as garbage, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and food waste. These elements degrade the appearance and functionality of the bins. The abuse wears away the thin coat of paint used to protect the metal underneath creating an opportunity for rust and corrosion, while also turning an important asset to the park into an eyesore. Recycle bins usually require replacement in less than a year. The National Park Service needed a solution that would not only protect the recycle bins, but would also keep the bins aesthetically appealing to the public. In addition, they required the solution to be cost effective

Pumping Station

Due to urban sprawl more and more communities and engineers are taking additional steps to protect and extend the service life of new and existing wastewater structures. A municipality in one such area controls a pumping station that has been degrading slowly over time. The walls of these stations are particularly susceptible to the corrosive environment and will easily deteriorate without protection. As infiltration and the effect of corrosive gases are the two primary causes of deterioration in a collection system, the addition of a corrosion barrier to a new structure will not only ensure a longer service life to the system, it will make the rough concrete surface easier to clean.

Power Transmission Towers

Power Transmission Towers often rust and corrode over time, and without proper maintenance, utilities may need to invest in untimely and costly replacement. Because towers are sometimes located close to major roads, it is important to the surrounding community that these structures are properly maintained. In the past residents have complained of the visual appearance of the towers. As a result, this customer needed a protective coating that is aesthetically pleasing while it also protects the towers from rust and corrosion.
